Staircase Tower
The Staircase Tower is the largest and the youngest tower of Bojnice castle. It was built from bottom to top between 1892 and 1893 on the site of the demolished part of the Baroque palace of the Middle Castle. Count Pálffy chose the octagonal staircase tower from Pierrefond castle as its model, but after starting its construction he masterfully sketched a different solution himself. He was probably inspired by the equestrian spiral staircase at Amboise castle.

The statues in the niches of the staircase tower are Baroque, mostly coming from churches in the Ponitrie region. The torso of each statue was always carved from one piece of wood, while the arms were additionally attached with wooden pegs. However, due to the disruption of these joints, the arms fell off and only the torsos of the statues have survived.
