The Hall of Coat of Arms

The Hall of Coats of Arms is so named after the ceiling with coats of arms. In the centre there is the coat of arms of the Pálffy family, with a stag and a half-wheel. Around it there are the coats of arms of the related noble families of Balassa, Fugger, Dersffy, Harrach, Czobor, Schlick, Colloredo-Mannsfeld and Erdődy.

The walls are covered with decorative plant ornament with large flowers and berries. Half-figures of knights grow out of the flowers. The panelling is inscribed in Hungarian with an excerpt from Petőfi’s revolutionary poem. The chairs and table in the room were made by the Innsbruck firm of Colli. The room has a 19th century persian carpet with figural motifs and silk pile.
